A new UV spectroradiometer operating at the Arctic primary NDACC site of Ny Ålesund, Svalbard.

11 November 2007

Abstract

A new UV spectroradiometer sought to comply with the requirements of the Network for the Detection of Atmospheric Composition Change (NDACC) is set up at the primary NDACC site at Ny Ålesund, Svalbard.

Prior to the set up on site, the instrument was thoroughly tested in a calibration laboratory at the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research, Bremerhaven, Germany. The laboratory characterizations as well as first results of the measurements on site are promising for the instrument to fully meet the NDACC specifications.
